Is this the black screen of death?

Hi, my 3ds has been playing up recently and I was hoping for some advice. 2 days ago, both screens kept going black for a few seconds before returning to normal, it did this a few times. Then yesterday both screens went black, but this time the bottom screen had a message saying an error had occured and to hold the power button to turn the console off.

 

I've had my 3ds for nearly 2 years, but it was preowned when I bought it (it's a yoshi DS so I assume it was bought on release). I have always kept it in a hard shell, and put it away in the Pokemon X&Y carry case when not in use. I haven't dropped it so far as I recall. However I have noticed the battery draining exceptionally fast recently (it lasts 2 hours from full battery to red light).

 

Does anyone know if this is the black screen of death people talk about? Or is my DS just dying of old age?

Eshop Funds transfer

Alright so My two younger brothers each got a 2ds some months back but they absolutely dont use them anymore. I have never had a Nintendo system before and I said why not, and ended up getting the newest Fire emblem about a week after it came out and had a great time.

Skip forward to right now, I decided to actually check the other 2ds and I realize the Eshop on it has about $30 in funds on it, I'd like to get the Revelations DLC but I figured id ask here if there was a way to transfer these funds.

I have access to all the information about the two 2DS's and the accounts on them and it dosnt matter if one account has to be deleted or merged into the first.

Is there anything I can do?

"An error has occurred..." black screen when system tries to go online

About an hour ago, I had booted up my 3DS (original style) and started playing Pokemon. Maybe about 30 seconds in, I suddenly got the "black screen of death" with the error message about holding the power button down.

 

At first I was scared that my game had gotten corrupted, but upon turning it on again, and waiting maybe about 20 seconds, the error occurred again. Afterwards, I tried taking out the SD card and then turning it on, in case maybe that was the problem. Again, the error message popped up.

 

Then I noticed that my online status in the top left corner had taken a strangely long time to connect, and that before it could, that's when the error was showing up. The next boot-up, I quickly turned my wireless switch off, and the 3DS worked fine.

 

So does anybody have any idea what's going on here? Before coming to this forum, I saw suggestions that maybe my system needed an update. Seeing as how I can't get my system online to perform any potential updates, that's kind of a no-go. Is there anything else I can do, or am I stuck with a system that can never get online again? I imagine it would probably be more worth it to just buy a new system if the repair costs are high.

 

Now, I've had my 3DS for at least four years, and it's a pre-owned system from a Gamestop. Up until now, aside from my analog pad crumbling away recently, I haven't had any issues with it. Whatever the serial code is, it's long gone now as the sticker with the bar code has worn off.

I was trying to buy Fire Emblem: Fates: Revelation earlier. When I got to the step of adding funds I got that error code?

 

I was able to use this card just fine under a month ago to buy the Birthright path, so why wouldn't it be accepted now?

Old 3DS Recovery Mode Stuck

After A failed Update and an error message saying an error has occured I was greeted with a black screen I read online that I could enter Recovery mode by holding (R+L+A+D-Pad Up), I was able to get in and start the update but about 60 - 70% complete it freezes and completely stops, At first I thought I it was my intenet and I walked outside to set up the google DNS to see if that would work but once again its still stuck at the same place. I got the 3ds at launch and obviously I wouldn't be send it in for repair as I got it back in 2011 and I don't want to pay to have it fixed. I really just wanna have the DS to let my friends use to play Smash.

'New' Nintendo 3DS Charging issues

I've had my 'New' Nintendo 3DS handheld for about a year now and it has suddenly stopped charging.
I sent it in for a repair while I still had the warranty and I recieve an email from Nintendo stating that my touch screen is damaged and is not covered by their warranty. I called arepresentative and got her to look up the details on my account and she told me the technician had made a note that the touch screen has a damaged panel. I had just bought a new battery when my system returned to see if that would fix the issue and it will power on, but it still won't charge. Can a damaged panel in the touch screen cause charging issues?

Data transfer and how much of a loss?

Recently got the Pokemon 20th anniversay n3DS and initially did not choose to transfer from my now semi-retired 3DS.

 

If I wanted to transfer my data, how much of the following would I lose?

 

Pokemon Red save file (don't care about)
Pokemon Red/Blue pre-loaded games

Project X Zone 2 and Pokemon Themes

Fire Emblem Fates DLC (would this be permanent? Would I be able to re-download it again without having to pay?)

Fire Emblem Fates data on SD card

Unable to download Fates Revelations

I've purchased fates revelations from amazon and got my digital code and each time I key it in it states the following

 

"Error Code: 011-3114

The item corresponding to the download code you entered is not currently being distributed.

 

If you've entered this code prior to the start of distribution, please try again after distribution has begun"

 

Revelations was released on 10 march and today is the 12th of march so why can't I download my paid item?

GBA Ambassador Virtual Console

I recently got a hold of an ambassador 3DS with GBA games on it. I noticed a problem with all of them, though. The screen seems to ghost horribly when there's any movement on the screen and the colors seem off. It doesn't do this with anything else, just the GBA games.

 

So my question are: Is this a common problem? If so, are there any plans to fix it?

Nintendo 3DS XL Hardware Issue

So my system is around three years old and I've been thinking that it's on its last legs. I had it sent in to be repaired last year and it came back in... well it came back in "okay" condition. The screen ended up slightly scratched somehow and the lower cover on the system was... worse for wear after they "fixed" it, but otherwise it was back in working condition. I didn't feel like using my warrenty to get it sent back because it was working well enough and I had just had it repaired by them. I thought it'd be weird to send it in again right after they had just sent it back to me. So here's the crux of the situation: My 3DS XL's screen flashes and then the system turns off each time I try to turn it on. I've been treating the system like a fragile little baby because of the slightly questionable condition I had recieved it in from Nintendo. I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but I doubt I'm to blame for this one. I'd truthfully say it's either a problem with the hardware itself, or someone wasn't being as careful as they should have during the repair last year. My main issue is that I don't want to send this system in to get fixed. I've been saving up for a 2DS and I don't have the money to send my 3DS XL in to get fixed AND buy a 2DS. The problem is my 3DS XL has all of my games on it. In Pokemon Alpha Sapphire I managed to catch every non-event Pokemon and complete the national dex, all legitimate. I don't want to lose any of my progress, but I really don't think I should have to pay to have a faulty system sent in and "repaired". I don't trust it to be able to continue on for another year, no matter how hard someone tries to repair the thing. I'd honestly prefer them to just get it in working condition, do a system transfer and put all of my games and progress on said games on a 2DS or new 3DS but that's probably out of the range of possibility.

Error 026-7512?

I have been using a credit(debit) card to download stuff for awhile. This incident has happened to me twice. When I try to buy something, it gives me that error code and yeah, I can't buy it. When I first bought DLC for Smash Bros, it worked fine. Then, when I tried to get Bayonetta, it didn't work again. After a few days I gave up trying and went on. When Fates came out, I got the DLC maps just fine but when Revelations came out I couldn't buy it. Can anyone help?

Wrong with adding more funds to Nintendo eshop

So, I was going to add funds to the nintendo eshop to buy the Hosido path for Fire Emblem Fates but when I was adding funds, more money was taken out of my debit card and the amount of money added to the eshop was even less! When I filled in the infomation for the first time, I accidentally typed in the wrong zip code and it denied my debut card so I typed it again. I added $20 and then another $20 because I was a 3 cents short however my Chase account showed me that an extra $20 was taken out. I believe when I accidentally typed my information incorrectly the first time, it still took my money! I'm want to know if I can get my $20 back even if it was the systems fault.

Pokemon Y Glitch

When I try to battle a trainer on pokemon Y my 2ds goes all back and on the bottom of my screen it says "an error ahs occurred Hold down the POWER Button to turn off teh power, then turn it on and try again. For help visit support.nintendo.com." Also I have pokemon Y downloaded onto my sd card. and also its not with every trainer its only with a random few.

New Nintendo 3ds Xl will not power on or hold a charge

Hello,  I have a new nintendo 3ds xl that will not power on.  I turned it on yesterday and the system said it had an update.  I updated the system and then it said it needed to restart. When it turned off it never turned back on.  When I hit the start button nothing happens.  When I connect the charger the orange light turns on for about 30 seconds and then turns off.  The battery was fully charged before the update process.

I have attempted to go to the Nintendo repair site to log a repair but it does not allow me to start a repair process.  I get as far as entering my serial number and then I get an error that says it is a new system and I have to go to a differnet link.  I just keep getting ran around.  If someone can help point me in the right direction on what to do I would greatly appreciate it.  I cannot even find a phone number to call for custormer service.

Can't download separate version of FE.Fates, error code 09-2916

hi there, so i downloaded fire emblem. birthright from the eshop and it turned out fine, although abit long.

 

Afterwards, i decided to download the other version (conquest) through the game to get the discounted price.

However, the system would download up to ~50% before crashing and showing the error code 009-2916.

 

The funny thing is, i've managed to download other kinds of dlc (e.g smash bros), even smaller dlc for fire emblem fates as well.

Any suggestions for this particular problem? Doesn't seem like a lot of people have this particular issue too.

My locker at school was forced open and looted. They took my iPod and my pokemon Omega Ruby cartridge and my SSBB, but i found the SSBB game. My school has been notified, but i was wondering if nintendo can do anything that would help.

Old 3DS system is broken, how can I disconnect my NNID?
