StreetPass Glitch Experiment

$

Does anyone remember the StreetPass glitch that occurred when you replaced the battery in the original 3DS? After you put the battery back in and turned the system back on, the clock would be reset to zeros. You could simply readjust the clock back to the correct time. However, the clock reset indicated that you had activated the StreetPass glitch. From that moment on, you could no longer StreetPass with any Mii’s that you had previously StreetPassed with before.

Many people encountered this glitch when they replaced the standard 1300mAh 3DS battery with the Nyko PowerPak+. I encountered this glitch when I replaced my standard battery with a 2500mAh one. At the time I had only StreetPassed with two Mii’s, my brother and a Best Buy. I was my bro’s only StreetPass at the time too. So, he also upgraded his battery, but then he performed the only known fix for the glitch: a system format. After he formatted his system, we were able to StreetPass again. I never did reformat my system. I still, to this very day, have never been able to StreetPass with that Best Buy again.

Now, years later, I have purchased a black 3DS XL. I wanted to replace the standard 1750mAh 3DS XL battery with a 2500mAh one. This time I could replace the battery first, before I even powered the system on. However, I wanted to use this opportunity to test if the glitch still exists or if it has been fixed and is no longer an issue. Here is what I did and what I found out.

First, I powered on the 3DS XL and set it up so it could StreetPass and SpotPass.

Then I StreetPassed the 3DS XL with the 3DS twice.

I also performed any updates the came through SpotPass.

After the second StreetPass, I powered the 3DS XL off, plugged it into the wall charger, and then I removed the battery while the charging cable was still plugged into the system.

I waited 5 minutes before I put the new battery into the system.

After I put the new battery into the system, I powered it back on and checked the time.

The 3DS XL still showed the correct time!

Next, I unplugged the charging cable from the 3DS XL, powered it off, and then I removed the battery while the charging cable was unplugged from the system.

I waited 5 minutes before I put the battery back into the system.

After I put the battery back into the system, I powered it back on and checked the time.

The 3DS XL had reset its clock to zeros.

Next, I readjusted the clock back to the correct time.

Finally, I waited 8 hours to see if the 3DS XL and the 3DS would StreetPass again.

The 3DS XL and the 3DS successfully StreetPassed after I had replaced the battery and reset the clock in the 3DS XL. Apparently, the glitch has been fixed and is no longer an issue.

WIFI Issue Fixed

So my daughter was getting the "black screen of death" error message on her 3ds. I noticed it would happen only when I enabled wifi. I opened the ds up. I then unplugged the wifi card and plugged it back in. I made sure it was in securely. Since then all has been well. I later found out that a few days earlier she had dropped it. The impact may have loosened the wifi card just enough to cause the error issue. Hope this helps.

AC: New Leaf Connection Issue

So... Here what's happening

I bought this game so I could play with my friend.

And everything was okay until a day suddenly I couldn't visit his city when trying through the Internet. Whenever I tried, it would appear the Resetti screen with a error message. What is worst is that I won't even receive a error code, so I can know what's happening. It just says "Error" and it says to go to Nintendo site look for a solution.

The interesting thing is that I'm able to visit and be visited by anyone, including this friend of mine. He can visit me and nothing happens BUT if I try to visit him, it will happen this error.

With him, the same thing. He can visit anyone and receive anyone in his city. But if I try visiting him, error.

Resuming: our online activities work fine except when I try to visit HIS city.

Why is that? That's a really annoying problem since I can't visit his city anymore (online at least). Ah, another interesting thing. I went to his home and tried connecting online from there. And it was okay. I was able to visit his city with no problem, using the same Internet connection. So I guess this had something to do with the network settings. But neither I nor him changed ANYTHING in the settings, so I'm clueless why this is happening.

Please, help me. A game that's all about connecting with friends and I can't, it's just sad.

3DS New Mii Plaza Games Warriors Way

I recently bought the new mii plaza gams and now with in the last day I started having issues with Warrior's Way.

I get into the game and greet all of the people doesn't matter wether i attack them or not (tired it both ways attacking some of them and not attacking anyone)

Once I get done greeting them and it is about to go back so you can invade the other countries it shows my castle like it's going to save but it doesn't. (I do always hold down R during this too speed things up)

It freezes and throws a white background error: an error has occured and the system will restart you may lose any unsaved data. (something like that)

I have lost oh a good 30k+ warriors to this.

Any ideas?

I called support and they suggested I tried to go to eshop and download the repair tool for it.

Well, They don't show up in eshop for me. (I downloaded them via the plaza as a bundle.

Nintendo kept my sd card!

I sent in my sons Nintendo 3ds for repairs that I thought was covered under warranty. The games on his 3ds xl no longer showed up on his game. Of course when Nintendo gets it they say the pins were bent so we would have to pay for it (my son owned a used ds xl for 2 years and never had any issues). The total cost of repair was 85.00.

The instructions when I mailed the 3ds said to send only the console and the sd card which I did. I received the 3ds back about 3 weeks ago. Today for some reason I decided to look at the sd card and guess what? It's missing! I am so angry! Not only did I have to pay 85.00 but I am now out of a sd card!!! I emailed them of course but I know I cannot prove it so I know nothing will be done. All I know is I am angry and if they decide to make it right then I will of course edit my post.

Just wanted to warn people to check their sd card when they get their game system back. You would think common sense would have told me to check but I was just so glad that he still had his game saves that I didn't even think of checking it.

Getting my Pikachu 3DS XL Repaired

Hi there...um, this is my first time posting here, but I need a little help..?

I will be sending in my Pikachu 3DS XL soon for repair, it freezes constantly on any game for no reason, and I yes, I have tried reformatting the SD card and even resetting the system memory...anyway, I keep hearing that nintendo can't fix the pikachu one because they don't have the right parts...? which I think is dumb because I thought the pikachu 3DS was the same as all other XL's just with a different shell...

but yea, if they can't fix it (also mine is within warranty) apparently...most likely, they will ask me to choose either a red or blue replacement? Are their any other colors to choose from because I really dislike those two...I would rather get the pink/white one and get a kirby decal for it or something.

and has anyone had their Pikachu 3DS XL sucessfully repaired and sent back?

Top Screen Contrast Issue?

Recently my 3ds has had this problem where the top screen is way out of contrast and almost seems fuzzy on the top. It happened about 3 weekends ago when  went to bad and left it closed but on overnight. I did this because I had a game downloading and wanted to play it in the morning, but when I opened it the next day.. it looked all out of whack! I mean at first it didnt look like it cause theres not much detail in the menu but as i continued to use it, i strated noticed the discrepancies. First in streetpass my mii's left eye was super dark and the rest of screen was white and fuzzy as described before, and when i shut it down to see if turning it off and on would fix it, i also noticed that the darkness of the 2 screens at the shutdown menu were also diffrent! so I'm not sure if its a system thing or a screen issue cause of the whole one eye mii thing. Does anybody have any idea what might be wrong? and yes I've already tried the brightnes settings and the power saving option but to no avail. And no it was not dropped or did it ever come in contact with water. I've also looked around the forum and googled it but none seem to have the issue I have. its either theirs completley stooped or it cracked and mines done neither.1.jpg

3DS send in repair question

I had just recently talked to an employee at the Nintendo Support hotline and after saying he will send a label for me to send my 3DS in he also told me to turn off the wireless because I could potentially lose my mii street pass plaza while in the repair if it's on.  I did what he said anyway but it seemed illogical because I had no idea how if it had the wireless on or not would affect the 3DS because it would be off during repairs.  Just wondering if any of you guys out there experienced the same thing and maybe even knew how I would exactly lose my mii plaza if the wireless was left on.

Dust inside top screen

My 3DS XL has some dust on the inside of the top screen, does anyone know a method of getting rid of it without sending it into Nintendo?  I'm skeptical to do that since I've already done it two other times and not only did they not fix any of my issues before, but the most recent time they sent it back without the original SD card.  It's a Pikachu 3DS XL so I don't want it to be replaced.  Thank you!

Weird Problems with Animal Crossing: New Leaf after System Transfer.

I had broken the top screen on my previous 3DS, so I bought a new one and did a system transfer. I have a downloaded version of AC:NL on my SD card. I transferred the SD card from the previous system to the new one. Obivously, the new system started out at January 1st. When i changed the date in my 3DS to 9/11/2013, the game decided it was still Jan. 1st. So I changed the date in my DS to a random day, and checked back with Animal Crossing. I changed the date the 7/11/2013. This changed the date of AC:NL to 10/1/2013. Every time I changed the date, this would happen. If I changed it to 6/12/2013, the date in-game would be 9/2/2013.

I tried fixing it by backing up my data, deleting the game, then redownloading and restoring the game save, but this didn't work.

I'm out of ideas.

My 3DS won't find my friends' DS/3DS when trying to link on Pokemon (DP, HG and White)

So I've been having this issue ever since I first got my 3DS a little more than a year ago... Whenever I want to play Pokemon (Pearl, HeartGold or White) with my friends by using Infrared or DS Wireless Communications, it always ends up with me having to use my old DS Lite instead because my 3DS simply can't find the ones I'm trying to link with.

Like, when holding our 3DS towards each other in order to use Infrared, it just keeps searching forever, never finding the other DS/3DS (it's the same with theirs when they try to find my 3DS, so it's clear that it's MY 3DS that is the problem). It's the same problem when we go to the Pokemon center on Pearl or HeartGold; whenever I pick "Become Leader" at the Link Station or "Join Group", nothing appears when we try to search each other up. The "Choose which group to join" - list is just blank... But as soon as I switch to my DS Lite, everything works just fine and our devices find each other immediately!

My StreetPass and Internet Connection works just fine, though. It seems that the issue only occurs when trying to link directly with games. I can play online with them when we're at two different places, but when trying to use Infrared or DS Wireless Communications: nothing. I'm really bothered by this issue, so I would really, really appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Transferring Animal Crossing: New Leaf to new 3DS via SD Card?

$

Hello, I'm planning on purchasing one of the limited edition Pokémon X/Y 3DSXLs, but I had thought of something that may cause me some problems when I go to transfer my data over to the new system.

I have purchased several games over the Nintendo eShop, and have them saved onto my SD Card. The list of digital games I own include Fire Emblem: Awakening, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and as I stated in the title, Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I noticed that I could back of the save files of all of the digital games, with the exception of AC:NL, which worries me. I'm not sure if, even if I just swap SD Cards, that I'd be able to access my game library due to 3DS accounts and such.

My question is this: If I do a 3DS system transfer, and instead of redownloading New Leaf, just insert the SD Card with New Leaf installed, will I be able to access my New Leaf save file? If not, how could I ensure that I will still be able to play in my town that I've spent several hours in? This is one of the factors that will either persuade me or deter me from purchasing the system, and I really want that 3DSXL. It looks quite nice.

Thank you.

3ds data in Limbo

Hi I was in the middle of transfering the data off of my 32gb sd card that I use in my 3ds.  I am using a macbook (just so you know...), and I cancelled halfway through.  Now the data on my sd card is not readable by my mac or my 3ds and the only visible folder is the one my ds made when it read it as a new sd card.

Heres the twist, when I look at the sd card info it says it has 20gb free out of 32.  I used a drive recovery scan and it was able to view pictures and other files.  Is there any way to get my files back without having to use a drive recovery program?

Can't Connect to Wireless (WEP Key problems?)

So, I got a new 3DS as a late birthday gift yesterday, and I've been trying to set everything up, but I've run into a snag that I can't figure out. My 3DS won't connect to the wireless router here in the house. I know it works for other things - I'm using it from my computer right now, and more than a few people have connected with their tablets and phones, so I know it's not a problem with the router itself, but an interaction with the 3DS.

I go into Nintendo DS Connections to set up my internet, click Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings, and attempt to make Connection 1. When I do an automatic search for an access point, it tells me "The access point's security settings are not supported by the Nintendo DS. For help, visit support.nintendo.com."

Not to be dettered, I enter Manual Setup to try and solve this. It accepts the SSID for my home wireless network, but not the WEP (Which, if it matters, is all numbers with no letters). I don't know what else to do, so here I am.
