I've done some searching on the net and found that the issue I'm having is fairly common, but my R-Button on my 3DS is not responding. I've had my 3DS a couple of years now and haven't had any problems until now. I'm very careful with my 3DS, so I doubt I did anything directly for something to fail because of physical abuse.
I began noticing that my R-Button wasn't responding (clicking like normal, but not working like it should in a game) during the Find Mii mini-games. I would go to skip the cutscenes and it worked occasionally. For some reason, this problem seemed to have fixed itself. However, I recently received Super Smash Bros for the 3DS as a birthday gift and began to play. Unfortunately, the R-button has been acting up again.
After some spotty periods of working well to working occasionally, I came here for some advice. I took an expert contributor's advice and gently cleaned out the button with a dry, new toothbrush. However, now the button is hardly working at all, worse than before trying this "fix".
I don't know what else I can do to fix this, but I doubt I still have a warranty and I don't have the money to send it in to Nintendo right now. I'm also a bit bothered that it seems the toothbrush advice made matters worse.
Does anybody have any tricks I haven't tried yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
