3DS XL SD card not being recognized (Help!)

Hello all, I really hope someone can read this and help me with my problem.

Ok, to start of, the problem is that my SD card on my 3DS XL isn't being reconised. Now, I can provide some information about the SD card. First off, the SD card is the one that was provided with the 3DS XL when my parents bought it for my birthday of 2013. I used it normally played some 3DS games (Animal Crossing, Super Mario Bros 2, etc.) BUT, before I got my 3DS XL, I had a normal 3DS before that, it also had the normal 2GB SD card it came with. And I work perfectly, I loved it. I also got some downloadable games off the e-shop. So the day, I got my 3DS XL I transfered my games from the old 3DS to my 3DS XL and It transfered them perfectly. So since then it worked perfectly with no defects at all. THENNN, as of August 14th 2014 (yesterday) I tried to put the sd card into my Surface Rt (If anyone dosen't know, a Surface RT DOES NOT have a Sd card input. So I got a USB port that allows you to insert your SD card into the USB and then put the USB into the Surface and it will show up.) and put some music on it. Now, I didn't know how to use it because I haven't done it before. I also didn't know what the lock switch ment (Now I do.) so I switched the switch to make it data lock. (Because I didn't know what it does). So when I put the USB port with my sd card in my Tablet, I went to documents and saw that the SD card is there and I can press it to acsses my 3DS files. So I tried to put the song on the SD card, and when it was loading on, it said it couldn't go on it or something like that. So I was confeused and tried again. It did the same thing. So I checked the files on the SD card and it showed the music file on the sd card, so I thought it was on it. So I took the SD card out of my tablet and put it on my 3DS and turned it on and went to music to see if I could play the music I put on the card. So when I pressed them, I said they couldn't be played. So I went home, and turned it off and turned it on again, and the music not being able to play happened again. SOOO, I put it back in my compeutor and I said for me to acsess the files, I would need to do something witch delete everything on the sd card so I pressed cancel and put it back in my 3DS and it said "The SD card can't be reconised, software can't be shown on the screen." When I saw this, I got really scared, I thought my SD card was broken. But I didn't delete anything off it. I really don't get it. I also had a 40.00 game on the sd card, and I don't know how I'm going to play Pokemon Y on it too.

I also have a history of using an Action Replay on the 3DS, (Note that I use it properly and nothing bad ever happened while I used it so I think the AR isn't the problem.)

I really hope someone can help me because I love my 3DS and if I can't play it, then that's really defestating.

Thanks, Bowserfang64
