So, I'm trying to trouble shoot an issue that I can't find out why or how this can happen.
I have my buddies old 3ds. He had a NNID and forgot that he had to do a system transfer. I had already created a new ID on the system, so we formatted my 3ds, he was able to re-link his NNID and successfully transfer. But, after we did the transfer, I was not able to re-link my NNID to the same console it was created on.
I had posted on the forums last night and was given the answer that my NNID probably transfered along with my friends NNID. So, I called nintendo up just now. Their answer was, "Your account is pretty much deleted once you format the system".
Yet, right here on the website it says - "You can format the system to remove the Nintendo Network ID without deleting it. Nintendo Network accounts removed in this way will not be deleted from the Wii U (if linked), and can be re-linked to the same Nintendo 3DS system again in the future."
2 issues with this. 1. if that was the case, my friend would not have been able to sign back into his account and successfully transfer. 2. my 3ds would not give me the error that my account was associated with another 3ds system.
This leads me to believe that ID is now associated with my friends 3ds even though I wasn't signed in. The only possible solution is to harrassee nintendo until they'll un-link my account, or see if my friend will risk formatting his 3ds, signing onto my ID, and then delete it so I can create a new ID of the same name.
If you have some solution, idea, or answer, please let me know. The advice the nintendo dude gave me was to just create a new ID, which I just might do, I just don't want to lose my ID name is all.
