So basically I bought the 3DS XL A Link Between Worlds Bundle from Target about maybe a month or two ago. I downloaded the game using the download code provided in the bundle and started playing immedietly. Fast forward a few weeks and Nintendo releases the Nintendo Network ID (NNID). I created an NNID account and played around with it for awhile and got bored with is. So I deleted it.
As I was deleting my NNID I had read all the details about how anything downloaded and linked to my NNID would disappear, games, dsi software, basically any eShop software; as well as your friends list. I took into account that I had downloaded A Link Between Worlds before I created the NNID so I assumed that it would be fine if I deleted my NNID so I proceeded to do so. After it finished deleting, I received the email notification that it was successfully deleted and I went on my way continuing to play A Link Between Worlds. Then a problem occured, I opened my 3DS yesterday only to find that my digital copy of A Link Between Worlds had disappeared. I thought that it was just taking awhile to load and show on screen like always so I waited about five minutes. Nothing. I was literally playing the game the day before.
I called Nintendo, they told me that it was because I deleted NNID. I find it hard to believe though because I deleted my NNID about two weeks ago and still had the game. To this date I still have all my friends in my friends list, none of that has changed. I also still get street pass notifications for A Link Between Worlds. I've removed my SD card and reinserted it and such but only to no avail. Nintendo said that they would call me back but they haven't yet.
Is there anyone that could possibly help me find an answer? It would be much appreciated!
