Hello! I have seen plenty of questions already and done my research about system transfers, and I generally know how to access the system transfer settings; I am just confused on a few steps. (As background info, I have a regular 3ds and on Christmas I am getting an XL; I have several downloaded games on an 8gb SD card in the 3ds and I don't want to risk losing any of them, so I just want to make sure I know exactly how the system transfer works.)
I know that for the transfer, my 3ds should still have the SD card in it, which the transfer will later direct me to take out and put into the XL. But before beginning the transfer, should I take out the default 4gb SD card that will be already in the new target XL?
That's really my main concern. I just don't want to lose any data by keeping the unused default SD card in the XL if it's not supposed to be.
And just to make sure... I have the digital downloads Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, and Pokemon X on my 3ds right now. All of that data will transfer, right? I'd be especially devastated if I lost my Animal Crossing town, so I just need to make sure that I will not lose the data on my digital downloads.
