Recently, I wished to swap out the pre-installed 4gb micro sd card that came with my New Nintendo 3DS XL for a 16gb one, but I was not really aware of how micro sd cards worked, and fear I may have screwed something up, as after trying trying to copy the data and switch them out, my 3ds seems to think that it has no data on it, as thought it were a new system.
I can pretty much understand how I messed up, so if possible, I'd mostly like some advice on how to fix the situation. Basically, I didn't know that micro sd adapters for regular sd card slots were a thing, and figured if I transferred my old data to the new card, I could just do it with the wireless feature which is so heavily promoted. I copied all of the data on the old 4gb card to my PC's desktop, then I turned the system off, swapped out the micro SDs, turned the system on, and that's when it started acting like it was a fresh system. I kinda already realized I messed up at this point, but I got back on the wireless transfer thing and tried copying all the 3DS data from my desktop to the new card, but nothing changed afterward.
I haven't altered any of the data from the old card, and still have the copied data on my desktop, as well. What should I do to sort this out? FYI I have a micro sd adapter coming in the mail this monday, hopefully.
TIA
