Hello,
I recently purchased a Sandisk Ultra 32gb Class-10 as an update for the 4gb Lexar SD card that came with my 3DS. I popped the Lexar into my computer, copied the files to my desktop, then popped in the Sandisk and copied them onto the new card. When I then put the Sandisk into my 3ds and flipped it on, the icons for my downloaded games appeared. Unfortunately, when I go to load one of these games, about 3 second into the program, I am presented with a black error screen stating that the SD card has been removed. Sometimes I am able to get as far as 10 seconds into the game, until I am presented with a different error screen: "An error has occurred". I have tried reformatting the card with both the Disc Utility built into my Mac, and the software linked to on Nintendo Support, but the same error screens continue to pop up. Yes, the switch on the side of the SD card is in the unlocked position. The card is also still readable in my computer.
The 3DS still works perfectly with the original Lexar card, which leads me to believe that it is the Sandisk card which is malfunctioning, or there is some sort of incompatibility with the 3DS. I have read reviews stating that the card should would perfectly with the 3DS, but have unfortunately also encountered a couple reviews where the same issue occured, even with multiple Sandisk Ultra SD cards. I will be returning this card this week if there is no way to make it work, but I'm not sure whether it's wise to exchange it for the same card if the 3DS is having an issue with the card model rather than my specific card.
Has anyone else had this issue or have any advice on fixing the card or buying an alternate brand? I'm a little concerned as Sandisk is supposed to be a reputable name as far as SD cards go. Thanks for any help!
