I'm already in what appears to be a long line to get support over chat. I'm betting the result of which will be my 3DS needing repairs, but I thought I'd try everything. My 3DS has had a history of problems connecting over local wireless. It has previously had trouble receiving street pass and connecting locally for multiplayer. It gets online fine, but even though it can see another device nearby it won't usually connect to it. The same appears to be happening for initiating the transfer from it to my New 3DS XL. It gives the error "a local wireless error has occurred. Cancelling transfer." This has no error code. It successfully connects to the internet, logs in to my Nintendo ID, and lists the New 3DS XL as available to transfer to as I've gotten that far on the new device. But then it gives that error just a split second after selecting it.
