Is this normal for a N3DSXL?

This is about the circle pad. Basically, if I put my thumb on a part of it and move it to another direction, the pad itself will kinda lift itself... It doesn't lift itself to much though, only a little bit. It only lifts in one direction though. For example, if I want to move Left and I move the circle pad in that direction, the right side will lift a little bit. Thanks
