I'm sort of annoyed.
I ordered a New 3DS XL from gamestop.
It arrived today, I applied my screen protectors, and then I did the system transfer.
After that I started playing Monster Hunter 4, which has a lot of dark colors in it. Then I noticed that whenever the screen is black, there is an extremely annoying bright red pixel on my top screen.
My original instinct was to take it back to Gamestop to get it replaced, but then I ran into an issue. My New 3DS can't preform another system transfer for seven days.
That would mean that in order for me to successfully replace my system with Gamestop, I'd have to wait a week to transfer my data back to my old 3DS, and then ANOTHER week to transfer that data to my New New 3DS.
Then I decided that it'd probably be much easier and faster to just send the console in to Nintendo for repairs, but of course, I ran into another problem. As I was filling out the form to get it repaired, I was told to check off the following box-
I understand that if the problem with my system is not a manufacturers defect:
- Nintendo will e-mail me to arrange for payment.
- This email will be sent within 2-3 business days of my repair being received.
- I will have a limited time to respond or my system will be returned unrepaired.
This IS a manufacturers defect. I'm not paying to get this repaired when my console is brand new and covered under warranty.
Will Nintendo repair this for free, or am I stuck waiting two weeks and doing a gamestop replacement?
