Hello everyone,
Please help me with the error code I continually receive when I try to connect to my Friends List or in-game (Pokemon Omega Ruby, currently) to trade/battle/etc. I have looked it up and have literally tried every last thing I can think of to make my 3DS connect:
- I have turned the router and modem on and off again, multiple times.
- I have assigned a static IP address to my 3DS and forwarded the necessary ports as listed in the error code look-up (ports 9103 and 50000-60000).
- I have tried using port triggering for those specific ports as well, although I am not very well versed in triggering vs. forwarding and it did nothing anyway.
- I have gotten rid of the encryption on the router to try and see if that was the problem.
- I have turned on the guest WiFi to connect through it.
- I have tried using the WPS settings on my Xfinity router/modem.
- I have turned off the 3DS and router/modem and then turned them back on again. Please do not suggest this. It has been done.
Now the extremely irritating thing is that the connection works just fine when I am not at my house - for example, when I am at my job, my 3DS can connect just fine and I have access to my Friends List as well as internet in-game. No other devices at my house are having any problems. The E-shop and internet browser on my 3DS work the way they are intended. When Pokemon X and Y came out, I did not have these issues, connections worked just fine. I am extremely frustrated and angry that I have not been able to fix this problem. For reference, I have a Netgear N600 Dual-Band Wireless Router (I am trying to connect to the 2.4 GHz network) along with an Xfinity router/modem (it has WiFi but also the telephone connection, so I'm not entirely sure what it is, just that it is terrible).
I have not called Nintendo. That is my last resort, because I hate talking over the phone.
