My 3DS XL was working fine today, and then the firmware update screen appeared while I was using it. I did the update right away, and now the SD memory card is no longer detected. Here's all the details:
The update downloaded/installed with no visible errors.
It now says "Could not detect an SD Card. The software on the SD card could not be displayed" whenever I turn on the system. Checking the Data Management in the System Settings gives the message "Could not detect an SD Card".
I tried taking it out (after turning the system off) & putting it back in, which didn't help. It's facing the right way, and wasn't forced.
The slider on the card was NOT set to the "lock" position. I tried doing that anyways, and for some reason when it's locked, the card IS detected (it tells me to unlock it), but naturally it can't be accessed.
I plugged the card into my PC, and all the data is still there.
I'm using the same 16gb SD card that I installed when I bought the system on day 1 (when the XL was released), and have never had any problems with it. Since the card was working properly at the exact time of the update, it's not faulty. The new firmware update (installed Oct. 12, 2014) is obviously what caused this massive error, and now all my games, demos, pictures...you name it, can't be accessed, and I had a LOT of things on there.
Please help!!!
