I am having major Pokémon internal craze because Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are just around the corner so the past week I've totally filled up my National Dex and Pokémon Bank with every non-legendary Pokémon. I really want to recapture the legendaries legitimately and to replay the game in another language.
Obviously having multiple saves is not some simple process of choose between Save A, B, and C at the start screen. I want to know if it is possible to have multiple files because I had an idea that might work, but I don't want to ruin my original file with all my records on there.
I have two SD cards, the 2GB that came with the 3DS and a 32GB that I use now for all my download games. If I were to redownload Pokémon X onto my 2GB SD card and start a new file, would my original file on the 32GB and the new one on the 2GB both be able to be used at any time with the corresponding SD cards in? In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, it seems that part of the save, even the eShop version, is attached to the console, so if you try to have multiple saves, the game freaks out and says "This save cannot be used because it is not the last saved." I heard that X and Y work similarly. But perhaps if there are two different instances of eShop downloads of the game itself, I can switch freely between my two saves when I switch the SD cards out.
Will this work? It would be best if I had a good prediction before possibly messing up my original Pokémon X records.
