We have a 3DS XL updated up to 7.2.0-17u. Recently we upgraded our router to a Netgear R6200. PS3, PS4, 360, X1, 2 smart phones (androids), Vita, iPad Air, iPad 2, Kindle Fire, two laptops, Dish Network, and a Roku all connect to it fine and are usable without an issue. I picked up the 3DS on the 4th of July, updated the internet setting for the new router, tested the connection and it passed. When I tried to open up the eshop, we received an error. We tried doing an update (as my first thought was Oh, we haven't touched this in a while, maybe we need to update). A different internet connection error generated there.
This is when I noticed that the internect connection bars that should be BLUE and state "Internet" were GRAY and stated "Enabled". So I browsed online and came accross a couple "fixes". The first was change the 3DS security settings (WPA2 to the other WPA2), but that didn't work. Next, I tried doing the DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4. It didn't work, but I did notice that now when I try to use the eshop or other internet function, the bars flash BLUE and Internet, but revert back to GRAY and Enabled immediately. So some progress on that end I guess?
To confirm it was just the 3DS and my new router fighting, I went to a friend's and connected to their wireless, no issues. Connected right away and bars stayed blue. Could get on the eshop and everything.
So does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get it to work here? Obviously the 3DS and the Router aren't talking properly and some setting somewhere needs to be adjusted. Thoughts? Thanks!
