Well to start, I have a physical copy of pokemon Y that I bought on the day it came out. I have never had any major issues with it. The only exception for this, was one time when I tried to play it and it said "The game could not be read". All I did was take the cartridge out and put it back in and it worked fine after that. That was a couple months back. Now fast-forward to today, when I was playing and I had closed my Y game through the 3DS menu after saving (as I have always done), to switch over to my X game. After playing on my X, I saved and opened the pokebank to transfer a pokemon from X to the bank, so that I could then transfer it to my Y. I closed the bank after transferring the pokemon from X, took out X and put in Y. I opened the bank and it read my Y copy fine just like normal. I then transfered the pokemon to Y and closed the bank to open my Y game.
Now this is where things went wrong. Initially it told me "The game could not be read". Like I said it has done this to me only one other time, so I figured the same solution as the last time would work. So I took the game out of the 3DS, put it back in and tried to restart. However now, intstead of even going to the title menu, it just brings up a screen telling me that the "Saved Game Data is Corrupted". I tried taking the cartridge out and putting it back in and restarting several times, but it is giving me the same message. I tried taking both the SD and Y cart out and blowing on them as well as the cartridge slot in the 3DS and that has not worked either. Also, I cannot even get the pokebank to read the game, which is extremely dishearting as I cannot even get my pokemon from the game now.
I am really just disgusted at this point as I have been extra careful with my game(s). I have never touched any hacking or cheating devices and I haven't even removed the SD card (up until this point) from its slot! I have read other articles pertaining to this, but most of those problems/fixes have been for digital copies. So basically what I would like to know is:
1) Is there any possible way to revive my physical copy's save data?
2) If there is not, then is there anyway to at least get the pokebank to read the cartridge so I can transfer my pokemon out of the game?
3) If there is no way to do either of the above, do you think I should just leave the game as is and hope that an update or something will come out that will give a chance to restore corrupted save data (like with the Lumoise patch)?
I'd appreciate any answers to this and forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong place or I am not being clear enough in the problem I am trying to convey. I will try to provide additional details if anyone needs them.
