Line of dead pixels of nitendo 3ds xl touch screen

Hi I have a vertical line of dead pixels going across the touch screen from dropping it by accident. I haven't had it for a full year yet so it is still under warranty. Does warranty usually cover that and if so how will I let nitendo know the system is under warranty and if not how much would they usually charge for repairing dead pixels. uggh it ssucks I can never look at pokemon y the same way again
