Refurbished 3DS questions

I'm considering whether to advise my son to buy a refurbished 3DS from the Ninendo web store.  I've reviewed lots of posts about others' experiences with the refurbed products, but still can't be sure of the following.  Tech support says it is too busy to take my call (not a good sign!).

Can anyone answer these?

Do they always come with charger?

Do they include the SD card?

(I've seen complaints on non-Nintendo refurb reviews that they did not, and I can't see that Nintendo's site says one way or the other.)

If no SD card is included, how much would one cost?

Nintendo suggests the 1-year warranty applies, but some of the past discussions complain about not being able to "register" the refurbed 3DS.  Some seem to suggest that meant they couldn't access warranty repairs.

Does the 1-year warranty apply, and does it start at the date of purchase of the refurbed unit?

What is the importance of being able to register the unit, or the buyer as a new registered owner?

(It sounds from other discussions like the latter is not possible for refurbed units.)

Thank you -- I don't want to convince my kid to buy refurbed product and have there be some unanticipated problem.
