Greetings all,
So I recently recieved a Crimson 3DSxl as a birthday present, opened it up and there was a small flake of paint missing from the top screen cover. This sort of bothered me and I attempted to take it to the store it was purchased at to exchange it, they wouldn't let me because I had opened the system and it was purchased for me two months prior. (30 days on opened product limitations)
So, I decided I would try to ignore this, even though I am a little OCD on brand new hardware popping out of the bag looking used. A few days ago, I noticed a white dot on the top screen that, despite my attempting to clean off with a microfiber cloth, persists. It doesn't FEEL like a scratch, but more like something has gotten stuck under the screen itself.
I filled out a repair request to send it in for (probably) a replacement and the automatic service TELLS me it is covered, but is this going to be the case? I have had issues with Nintendo owning up to the flaws of the original 3DS in the past (the bottom screen scratching the top screen issue) and for me this is really a case of a small issue making it unplayable, I get physically ill just opening the system and seeing that dot, not to mention the paint flake.
Thanks for any insight!
